Prep These Easy to Make Beef Tips in Minutes!
Hey guys! I got another goodie for you today! In this recipe, the beef tips are made in the crockpot, smothered in a sauce that makes a delicious gravy. Perfect for serving over rice, potatoes, noodles, or a bread bowl. You can even just dunk the bread in it! So good. This is a great recipe for Sunday dinners or even guests.
Beef tips can be made with a couple different cuts of beef. First, and my usual go to, is chuck roast. I like it the best because to me it stands up the best for the long cooking time. Next would be stew meat. It is a combo of a few cuts, chopped down into bite sized pieces by the butcher. It also handles the long cooking time and is usually relatively cheap.
All the tools need to make this are a whisk, large bowl and a crockpot. That’s it! The prep takes five minutes! The waiting will be the hardest part as your house fills with delicious smells! LOL!
Swaps & Specs:
- Use a type of meat that is suited for long cooking times to prevent dried out meat rocks!
- This recipe does use canned cream of mushroom soup. As of now, I haven’t tried it with any alternative. If I had to guess I think first I would try cream of celery. I’m currently looking to an alternative to the canned soup altogether.
- I add fresh mushrooms but you can leave them out and it will still be great. You can even add sliced onion if you want more of that in there.
- This recipe calls for beefy onion soup mix but you can use regular onion soup mix. It still will turn out tasty!
- If you don’t have a crockpot, assemble all the ingredients just the same in a large baking dish, bake at 325* for 2 1/2 hour covered.
- Use a good tin foil if you are doing the oven version. You will need it to wrap tight to the baking dish to create a good seal. Otherwise it may bubble over in the oven.
- Pour over rice, potatoes, noodles or into a bread bowl! I toast up a baguette and dunk in the gravy, soo good!
If you are having company for dinner, throw this in the crockpot and by the time your guests arrive, the house will smell like delicious roasting meat. Your guests will think you were in the kitchen for hours when really the crockpot did all the work for you! I hope you enjoy it, please drop me a line with any questions or comments you might have! Thanks!
