The Best Easy Layered Taco Dip Recipe!
Hey everyone! Today I’m bringing you the ultimate party appetizer, Easy Layered Taco Dip. This dip disappears faster than I can put it down. Creamy cream cheese, cool sour cream, fresh salsa, crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, black olives, a blanket of freshly shredded cheese, seasoned refired beans and taco meat. Every scoop hits all the textures. Whether it’s game day, girls’ night, backyard BBQ – this one shows up and shows out. You will definitely want to save this for your next party.
What I love about this appetizer is you can make it so many different ways. It can easily be spiced up or down. You can add ingredients or remove them. It’s so unbelievably easy to customize.

Swaps & Specs for Layered Taco Dip:
- Use a low fat cream cheese to reduce the calories without sacrificing flavor.
- I use a homemade taco seasoning. I saved one of those large seasoning bottles and I reused it to hold big batches of taco seasoning so I always have it on hand and ready to use.
- Spice it up by adding chopped jalapenos, hot sauce or both.
- I like Roma tomatoes but really any variety will work here. Even cherry tomatoes, cut in half.
- This dish is the perfect opportunity to use up leftover taco meat, whether it’s ground beef, chopped chicken thighs, or pulled beef or pork. Any thing that is already seasoned with Latin flavors will work here.
- This recipe calls for 2 cups of freshly shredded cheese. Use mild cheddar, colby jack or a combination thereof.
- This recipe is made for larger crowds but it can easily made for smaller ones by simply cutting it in half.
- Use a glass dish for a pretty presentation of all the beautiful layers, a deep one is best.
- Leave the meat completely out for a meatless option.
- I use Herdez salsa because it’s my favorite bottled salsa but you can use a freshly made one as well.
This is the kind of appetizer you make “for guests” and end up guarding with your life. Whether you make it my way or tweak it your taste, it’s a total hit. I hope you enjoy it and as always, if you have any questions- get me on my socials.
